I fished and hunted from one end of broadwater creek to the other for 30 years, have camped there number of times can't be counted. Camped two weeks at the time quite a few times. Literally slaughtered the bream there all year round. Ate many of squirrel bog on our camping trips now fish Spears Creek and the wateree river. I haven't fished in broadwater in a while stopped when the aquatic hydrilla took over. My activity is mostly Wateree River Swamp now go on a four day hog hunt in the wateree river every February I guess this replaced my duck hunting it surely is just as exciting. About the water, wateree is up and down and until they quit releasing it out the lake they will not be much opportunity to fish the swamp it was at 5 feet the other day and two days later back to 17 feet. So it ill take the Santee River Swamp longer to dry out than the Wateree River Swamp. Two inches of mud on the landing at Goff Swamp's Hunt Club Landing need two vehicle to put in there right now so it forces you to put in at the 378 bridge. My project right now is refurbing the rig I hunted and fished out of in the 60's and 70's. 14 foot Mon Ark flat bottom with a drive on trailer, went down to our boat bone yard and resurrected trailer and boat making progress with the boat and will start the trailer when boat is complete. Right now current rig we fish out of is a 17 foot bass boat with a 40 hp motor. I started hunting and fishing out of this 14 foot boat so I decided I might as well finish the rest of my life fishing out of it. Old age is slowing me up. Any way glad some folks are still going to Broad Water Creek have fun and enjoy yourselfs.
