Night time clutter on the bird

Zooplankton is right. Zooplankton start rising at sundown. Float up and float down. Rister and Broadbent ( marine biologists) have both told me this (cause I asked them).
I see the clutter come and go all the time as I am usually on the water til dark. That is when I get a chance.

RCC is right. We talked about this some where????

Use the "Upper Range" setting to eliminate "x" number of feet from the upper part of the displayed imaged and you won't have the plankton cluttering up your screen ...

Plus the remaining screen gets used by stretching out visible structure vertically on the display ... Making it "sort of" a zoomed image ...

Of course ... If the plankton covers the entire water column ... Only a lower Sensitivity setting (or other filter setting) will help in his case ...(which also makes good target echoes less prominent on the display) ...

Yea that's In a shallower part of the lake. Alot of times the clutter will be as much as the top 16ft of the column. Just part of night time fishin I guess.
