I would buy a used larger unit if possible. There are many non DI or SI units being sold as people upgrade. Check the Bass Boat Central electronics section of classifieds and the classifieds on this site.

I know almost nothing about fishing electronics. I am looking for a FF for a yak that has GPS and minimal chart plotting to save waypoints preferably to a card so each card can be for a separate body of water. I have a budget of under $200. I was looking at Lowrance Elite-4 CHIRP but like I said dont know enough to make a good decision. It seems that most of the threads here concern the higher priced FF which dont help in my situation. Any suggestions to a different make/model or reviews on the Elite 4 CHIRP would be greatly appreciated. I have been enjoying the SONAR quizzes so I might be able to read a FF when I do get one.![]()

I'm looking at the Elite 4 Chirp too it looks like a good unit with a lot of features for the price. Elite 4 with GPS is $300 if your budget is $200 you might look at the Lowrance Mark-4 Chirp which is a black-and-white unit with sonar, downscan, and GPS.
Another option is to get a non-GPS unit (which is a lot cheaper) and then buy a used hand-held GPS off craigslist on the cheap. I've gone this route for the last couple years it gets the job done. Depends on what you want to do...
ppowell, I thought I had found one for $180, then a little research told me that any model with X in it was a non GPS model.
crappielimits, I dont mind used. Its worth a look.
