    If running a HB and I switch from Navionics hotmap chip to Lakemaster , will my saved waypoints appear on the new card?

    Waypoints are stored in the unit memory ...

    Mapping is an overlay layer over the built in map background ...

    Your waypoints will show on the chart view with either mapping card installed ... Or even on the bland background map if there is no map card in the unit ...

    You can even navigate to waypoints on the bland map background without a map card in the unit ... You just won't see any mapping detail ... Because that detail is added as the map overlay layer when you load your mapping card into the unit ...
