I recently picked up a lowrance hds5x and I am still needing a transducer and there are so many different kinds and I don't know what I need. I know I want it to be transom mounted but there are still different options. What's the difference in the different ones?
Be patient ...
The Lowrance guys don't check in as often as I do ...and I just know generalities of the Lowrance product line ...
I will mention for general shallow water fishing in <100ft ... You will get the most benefit from a 83kHz/200kHz 2d xducer ...But I don't know the part number for that ...

I think the HST-WSBL( which is a 83/200htz transducer is what you will need. Then your hds 5x will show split screen 83 and 200 at the same timwe. I had a HDS 7 and that is how it was used. that is all that can be seen unless you go the LSS2 route. This will also give water temperature....Good Luck....crappie1133
