First thing I would do (and this is what Lowrance would tell you) is make sure you have the latest software in it.

While fishing yesterday my front fish finder, elite 7 stated acting different, the depth reading would blank out a lot and my gps screen would freeze up. This unit is only two months old and I've only used it a few times, any suggestions would be appreciated.

You are right about that every time I talk to them about something they always ask me about the latest software. It did a couple months ago when I bought it because I had to have the latest software to link it to my 9 inch touch screen.
Issues similar to this are frequently attributed to low or bad power supply ...
How old is the battery ...?? Load tested ...??
Unit wired direct to starting battery ...or thru boat wiring ...??
Corroded battery terminals ...?? Fuse and fuse holder corroded ...??

After you have done all of the above do a "reset".

A new software update was just released Jan 23rd for the Elite /Mark series. I would recommend loading it.

Best thing you can do is go with the HDS/Touch units!!!! I had an Elite 7 and after multiple problems sent it back for a Touch 7. Those Elite units are the "lower end" units and you can sure tell it!!! Save some time and go ahead and trade it in!!!
It is a new boat, I added the depth finders to the factory wireing harness, I am going to do some grounding work and see if that helps. I hope your wrong jabbo... Lol. Although I have the touch 9 on the console and I love it! I'm am just out of money right now! Thanks for all the suggestions guys, crappie. Com is a great source of information and a good way to make new friends with fishing in mind.
