    Default QUESTION GUYS

I HAVE A 998 WITH TRANSDUCER ON BACK AND NOW HAVE A 859 THAT I WILL BE USING FOR GPS AND DI FOR BACK ALSO,I WANT 998 MOSTLY FOR SI VIEWING SO WHERE WOULD BE THE BEST PLACE TO MOUNT 859 DUCER WITH LEASE INTERFERANCE? IF YOU CUT OFF SONAR ON EITHER ONE,WILL DI OR SI STILL WORK IN ORDER TO CUT DOWN ON INTERFERANCE?

Just don't have 2 identical or near identical frequencies operating at the same time and it should work just fine.

Gene, tell me if I'm wrong, but I think what your wanting, is to have your 859 di transducer mounted next to your 998, on the transom and view both units from the console. If so, then just run the 998 on 455khz and the 859 on 800khz . shouldn't matter how close the transducers are to each other.the 2nd probably will have to be on different frequencies also

why not put the 859 on the trolling motor so you can use it when you are up front.

Gene, your 2nd might be pinging 200khz all the time on both units.seems like , I remember that the 2 00 kHz is were you get your depth reading for si or di

I think what Kosmo is saying is that even if you put the 859 on 800 Khz and the SI on 455 Khz, both units would still be using the 200Khz frequency for 2D depth ....... This could result in crosstalk interference.

Just the 2D ..... Problem is the SI and DI use the 2D to display the imaging....You may just have to try it and see what you get.

Maybe a temporary mount as a test.
