First thing I would do is remove the switch and hook up the ducer straight to the unit and check it out.

I have a Elite 7 HDI. I am not sure if the settings are correct. I have called Lowrance and was sent a new transducer. I feel the unit is not performing correctly. There are times when the DI can hardly be seen on the screen (I am aware that the boat needs to be moving) The bottom is so fant that you can hardly see it .Does this mean the unit is bad or just not adjusted right. How do I find out(just call Lowrance and have it checked) I don't have anyone I can just check out the unit by hooking up their unit to my boat . I have a relay switch to use a hst-wsbl transducer on the transom or use the HDI transducer on the bow.Could the switch be causing the problem( if there is one). I am open to any ideas or suggestions and thanks for any comments......crappie1133

Process of elimination. Sorry to hear about you depth finder problems
I have the Elite 5, which is essentially the same unit with only a 5" screen instead of 7". Do you have the settings on factory default or auto? I think it would be worth going into the menu and hitting "restore defaults" and make sure everything is on auto just to assure it is not a setting issue. I agree with the others, if a new transducer didn't help, check other things one at a time.
