Anybody know if it'll work with a riptide I pilot and an 1198 ?

Yes to the 1198 and yes on the troller if you mount it on the transom!!!
Why would you not want it on the transom???? To me it more useful there, can use it idling with the big motor and when you are on the troller.

I want one pretty bad but depends on how spring goes.

I really thought bout it John and I fish from the center of boat most of the time. The transom mount will work much better and it allows me to run the big motor like you said. Hope this is all its made up to be!!!

Bama I have been using a bow mount 360 for about the last 4 weeks. It is worth the money. It's almost cheating!! At least for the way I fish. Get you a da ducer Aparatus from Rickie to mount it on the bow, 1198 and your set.
