Yes they would Rickie, that and the fact that the unit uses the DI sonar to determine water depth when fishing shallower water. Without the DI sonar he may not be able to show the correct digital depth readings. The DI model units are different that way from all of our other units.

Thanks for all the info. To sum it up, looks like I won't be able to use the universal sonar but I can run the transducer cord down the grove in the shaft and it will be out of the way. I didn't know the terrova had a grove in it, my power drive does not and it's kind of a rinky dink setup for the transducer wire.
