I went to the lake yesterday looking for some places to put beds, one of the humps I found on the mapping is not in the lake. I also have a 09 Platinum card, it doesn't show a hump in that location. I sent an e-mail to Navionics customer service to report it.

Check out the webapp on the Navionics website to see the latest cartography your chip is an 09, its 14 your chip is 5 years old. They may have changed it on the new mapping Navionics WebApp - Product Catalog click on the SonarIcon on the lower left for the high def SonarCharts view. Whats on the WebApp is the latest mapping available.

Yes my New card has the latest data, just updated it this week. Yes, the 09 card is 5 years old, regardless the hump is not on it. Customer service sent me a link to report it. I don't expect it to be perfect. If everyone that finds errors would report them it will make the mapping better.

Very true, one thing on Sonar Logging if you decide to log an area and submit the turn around to correct the discrepancy is less than a week, so you can repair issues without contacting customer service. Without the correct data they cannot make it accurate. There are areas where they start with government or DNR mapping and build off that, think about how many square miles of water there is on the earth they basically cover it all there will be discrepancies. Navionics mapping never degrades it only gets better as sonar logs are submitted.

I have worked with guys that dont have a map on small lakes they log it submit and Navionics hands them back a High Def map thru freshest data with in a week sometimes within 24 hrs depending how busy it is.

I was transferred to Navionics Support, lady was trying to help, but I could not understand her. Asked for someone more fluent in english, she keep on talking. Finally I hung up. Customer service has been great in working with me, but still having problems updating my chip. Purchased the hotmap platimum from Gander Mountain last friday. It was mfg 4-17-13.

I have asked for a new chip, but Dan has to check on something.

So let me get this straight. Its possible to buy a navionics card of some lakes that are on it. And then upload them mapping of a smaller lake that I have made myself and they will topo it out for me and send it back? So its possible I have a custom map of lets say a reservoir or something like that?

You can go 2 ways Hotmaps Platinum or Nav + both of which accept SonarCharts data which is where if you loged sonar uploaded it to Navionics they will process that data into a lake map. SonarCharts™ | Navionics

Nav + is a blank chip that doesn't have boundaries and is region specific Hotmaps Platinum is a regional chip so if the lake you loged sonar on is lets say the east area you wold have to have a Hotmaps Platinum East chip.

Chuck what is the issue specifically? Wont accept updates via the chart installer?
