    Default Elite 7- transducer problems

I asked for some help under another thread ("Is it bad") and only received a small amount of information. It seems my HDI transducer may not be working. I fished the other day and the down scan was not visiable on the screen. I changed speeds and frequencies and nothing seemed to help. Sometimes it would go back to work and go away again. I was fishing in the sun and my unit was a little warm. I was wondering if it was my unit, but the 2d seems to be working fine. Would you guys think this was a transducer problem? I don't know anyone else with this unit to swap out heads with. Anyone else have any problems.......crappie113e.

Call Lowrance customer service and see what they say.

I would try bending the pins just a little...

I don't know the settings in a Lowrance ...but look for a "Lower Range" to set the depth just a few feet deeper than the water and crank up the sensitivity (or contrast or whatever Lowrance calls it)...

You might also try a soft reset and a hard reset...

If it still will not show the bottom detail ...I'm guessing the DI piezo in the xducer or the DI transmitter in the unit is going out...

Cross testing with another unit or xducer is the preferred method to troubleshoot...

    PS....and I agree with Justin...call Lowrance....
