Default 2014 IPilot Terrova electrical plug help

I just bought a 2014 IPilot Terrova 55 thrust. I did had a Motorguide pro 46 thrust. I like the quick disconnect That came with the Motorguide TM. Is there a accessory out there for Minn Kota quick disconnect or can I improvise with this. The Motor guide looks like a little smaller gauge wire. looks like I need a 8 gauge wire. Any thoughts or has any done a hookup on a quick disconnect? I want to do this right and not take a chance of shorting it out. This is a bow mount.
    Thanks

Follow the instruction to the T I have a circuit breaker on mine auto reset. You can get them at a RV store. I think and I could be wrong I used 6 or 8 ga wire all the way to the battery. Your battery will last much longer with the correct size wiring. Less voltage drop it cost more but pays off

Also use the minnkota connector. They are a lot like the Ranger boat connector never had a issue

8 guage is good up to a 18 foot length. After that you need 6 or move your battery. 12 volt motors actually run hotter than 24s. You can buy a plug and receptacle from Home Depot or lowes. You will need a 50 amp circuit breaker also. These motors are power hawgs and I recommend two batteries parallel or at least a group 31 if possible. Also keep extra remote batteries on hand. Minnkota does make a quick connect, but I would go with the plug/receptacle if possible.

    Forgot to add this
: I have a Basstracker pro Crappie to replace the Motorguide 46 thrust. if you are familiar with this it came with a quick disconnect for the MotorGuide. Minn kota came with two power plugs to hook up to a battery. I would like to use the quick disconnect. Bass pro shop has a 8 gauge 50 Amp.Minn Kota has a 8 gauge with 60 amp breaker. Am I ok to use the 8 gauge 50 amp wire or am I playing with fire? Or any other suggestions?

If you want to keep the original connection from the MG, then just cut the male plug off the MG and splice it onto the MK wiring, use the appropriate connections, electrical tape and shrink wrap, and good to go. I would replace the circuit breaker as well. I upgraded from a MG 43# to the Terrova 55# doing it this way 18 months ago and no problems at all since doing this.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

The 8 guage should be fine on that boat and yes cut the connector and double heat shrink.

Thanks all went to Bass Pro shop and got an 8 gauge male and female plug. Male will go right in where the other was installed at console. I got another 8 gauge female since female on Motorguide was 10. Thanks all for comments and tight lines. Consider this solved.
