Lowrance HDS 7 Touch

Guys I am looking at an HDS 7 touch for the primary finder on my console. Currently just have a 587 with di on my console. What do you folks that are running them like and dislike about them? I know bigger is better, but this is at the upper end of what the wife will let me have (okay it blew the top end out and she isn't happy that I may buy it). I like the side imaging option on it a lot. I also like you can customize the screen unlike my hummingbird that I flip through 20 times a day while fishing.

If your bride has your ceiling set on price, then you'll be extremely pleased with the 7 touch. Period

This is a very nice unit for the price from what I can see. I would love to have it.

I run Touch units and really like them. It's easy and fast to navigate the menus, change screens, set waypoints, take screen shots and make adjustments. Don't rule out a Gen 2 HDS 8.

Hds 7 have far superior down image, but the HB 998 side image is better than HDS, 998 is likely to be had for way less these days.

I can get an HDS 7 for 350 less than a 998 and cheaper that an 899 as well.

You do realize that to get side scan you will have to add structure scan
