    Default Depth reading wrong humminbird

I have a 898 hd is has been giving wrong depth readings on occasion, by wrong I mean I can be in 12 ft of water and it will read like 200 or 300 ft and the 2d sonar screen gets filled with clutter, decided to reset defaults and that looks like it may have fixed it,, anyone know what menu settings I would have messed with that would have caused it to do this ?

There seems to be lots of pollen in the lakes right now...this stuff can really mess with depth readings..

If it works after the Restore Defaults ...I wouldn't worry too much...(unless it starts happening more frequently)...

That sounds like something blocking the transducer or it has kicked up. Obviously, you would have noticed the transducer kicked up. Though, you might have had some trash on the transducer that come off on its own. I fish a grassy lake and this problem can be common.
