I have heard it said that if you have an Ipilot already there is no reason to upgrade to the Link, especially if you are not running Humminbirds. I got the chance to upgrade and went for it, just mounted the 112 Terrova Ilink and its a BEAST!!!! If the wind ever lets up I will give some on the water reports but so far I really like it. The remote is way bigger with a nice screen and adjustable backlight, color too, makes it very easy to see in direct sunlight.
The rabbit button is gone, thank God, that dang rabbit made me almost go swimming on more than one occasion. Now when you turn the speed up it also offers 2 options, one for speed 5 and one for speed 10, very nice change.
The auto pilot can be set to a default, instead of having to hold the N button down to get the advanced you can set it up to use that one all the time in the settings.
Has a direct heading reading as well, if headed due north its on 0 and headed south on 180.
Has battery read out and the battery is a rechargeable, not sure how it will last on the water, we will see.
I haven't even scratched the surface on the tracks, spotlocks, and waypoints, will check them out in a day or two, really curious on haw they will work.
Without out getting on the water I already think its worth the upgrade, especially if I were buying new. Will post some more once I get on the water with it, speck this 112 will get the Bass Cat on plane!!!
