Thread: please interpret for me, trying to learn

Pic 2 looks like weeds.
Pic 3 - 8 shows bait balls and FISH. Hope you dropped a line!
Pic 8 looks like a large bait ball and a few fish around the hump which has a little cover (brush) on it.

Would have been easier to interpret if you had posted complete images rather than camera pics of partials. If you need help posting images, let me know and I'll try to assist.

yea, trying to learn. I can tear crappie up long lining (have a freezer full this year already), but trying to learn to jig over them but every time I see stuff like this on my sonar I stop and try and never catch squat.

i don't think pic 2 is weeds, no weeds around there. Could it be rocks or fish?

It could be. Hard to tell from the pictures you posted though. Next time get an memory card for your unit and take Screen Snapshots. These will show the whole display and the sonar will appear a little clearer for us.

On picture #1 I’m not sure what the dark areas are but whatever it is it was below the boat as well as to the sides as you can see something in the 2D and Si sonar.

Could the dark line in the first photo be a silted (soft bottom) in creek? It does line up with the culvert on the left side. On the right side of photo 2 looks like fish to me.
