Default 859 switchfire Max Mode vid

This is a short clip from the 859ci HD in shallow water using max mode switchfire. Used it to pull in some crappie and be jacked with by the stripe.

As soon as the jig first goes down you can see a fish come in from the side and hit at the jig. When I would get a missed strike you can see the disturbance then it would scroll away. Was using the same settings as I posted earlier.

In this shot taken from the vid you can see what I was talking about having the TM turned to the left and jigging to the right side or the back of the xducer. To me it just gives better views when tracking the jig. The xducer is level and shows no tilt so I can not explain why this is the case.

Great video.. I'll bet you had to turn your sensitivity down using Switchfire in the Max Mode in that shallow water.

Don it surprised me just how the settings I was using was able to work in the shallower water. I started to play with it but left well enough alone. Now when a big ball of bait came through it was a different story, Hope to get out for a few hrs tomorrow...these nicer days are feeling good!

That's cool. I've for a 998 and never tried this. So the darker red thicker lines are the fish or yellow. Thanks

Newly, for now use the yellow. I've used a flasher for some time and that is one of the reasons I like this way of fishing. good luck

Slab,I turn mine up high on Max mode and could see fish I could not see on DI ,it was too windy to fish there much but tried it ,was hard to keep jig under sonar with that much wind, did notice that I could not use fire line because it pick it up all the way down when I jig it look like 30 jigs on one line, don,t use fire line much but it already had bait I wanted to use.

genec, this is good to know due to having my winter jig poles rigged with spider wire. I'll need to test this on my unit next time as well. Did you try and turn the xducer to read the jig from the back of it instead of the side?

The days that I went out and it was real windy I anchored off up wind of the fish and let rope out to get back over them. I then drifted past and put out another anchor in the back, I then adjusted the ropes to put the boat over the target area. I don't use regular bell anchors any more, they drift to much. I use two truck rotors...those things get on bottom and that's all she wrote

Have to go back to work tomorrow so will not be out for some time, let me know if you turn the xducer this weekend and see if it works for you.

Slabback, i thought about it yesterday and was trying to see but was too windy and i didn,t anchor,i was in a hurry to try the back of the creeks,it took a while but i found them, pic on va board ,all were 12 to 16/1/2 inches, they were all sows and we loss 10 more that we could see, never seen crappies pull as hard as these, not fishing this week end so i am not sure when i can check it out but will soon, going with a friend on his boat next week ,he got a new df and wants us to check it out
