    Default Transporting/storing large graphs???

For the guys who take their units off the boat after each trip I am wanting to know how/where you store them. I can not get the cover on the boat with them on the boat and I store it outside. So I am trying to find the best way to do this. I was thinking about a 2 scoped rifle gun case with the gray "egg shell" padding inside. It would hold both the 1159 and 1199. I could then take them off and put in the back seat of the truck for the ride home and then store inside the house until the next trip. Does anyone have a better/safer/easier way of doing this?

I use a soft side tackle bag for mine. Have screen cleaner a small towel and lake maps in it also. I wrap the towel around one and face them together so I don't scratch the screens. Works well for me as long as I don't forget to put them in the car before I leave home.
I have a 597, 798 and 998 and they fit snug in the bag I have. Also has a long strap to throw over your shoulder to carry.

Any good hard sided case with the foam your talking about in the gun case. Empty portable drill cases work good.

If you want the ultimate in protection take a look at Pelican cases. They come in various sizes and can be customized inside for just about any shape.

    Very popular with camera guys.

    Remember typewriters?

I got an old typewriter case that holds all my electronics and remotes. I fill the empty spaces with bubble wrap packs.

Thanks for the idea. Was looking for something to put mine in as well. I got an empty Dewalt hard case that should work. Now everybody at the boat ramp will think I'm about to work on the boat when I'm getting ready to launch..lol.

I use the lap top bags you can find them cheap in thrift shops or yard sales .Then bring them in the house when I get home.
