    Has anybody got any good or bad things to say about the Lowrance 5HDI before I buy one.

    Would not buy it, go with an Elite 7 HDI, or the new Humminbirds like the 858. If you buy an Elite 7 HDI make sure you read my warning thread here in the Electronics forum. If money is not an issue, then Lowrance HDS is the way to go. Hands down the best down scan images around and no the Humminbird 858 and the Elite 7 HDI does not have the image of a Lowrance HDS. They are good for the price, but if you want the best you have to willing to pay for the best.
