Would it show up better on deeper water since the cone angle would be larger or do I have a setting problem. It seems I am having a problem getting the settings right. DI doesn't seem to appear right and I am just as big of a dummy at taking screen shots as getting the settings right. I am having fun playing with it anyway....... any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...... crappie1133
In 8' of water, a 20deg cone angle will show a bottom circle ~ 3ft across ... so, yeah, you'd have to get your lure right underneath the transducer in order to see it on 2d. The DI sonar ping is only a few degrees thick, but has a much greater degree (width) of angle ... and it's a higher kHz range, so it's going to show more detail (even on the smaller object).

Screen shots should be a "two button" operation. On my Elite 5DSI, that amounts to pushing the Power Button, then the + Zoom Button ... and you're done. As I understand it, the E7HDI requires you to push both these buttons at the same time .... and more often than not you get the function results of only one of the buttons (whichever made contact first).
I guess you'd have to be able to reach the buttons with two hands at the same time, or else scroll the screen backwards & then take the screen shot.
