With SI...You can see and mark (right on the SI image)...new structure 100+ feet out to the sides while trolling...

Then you can re-position the boat to vertical jig that "newfound" structure with the 2d or DI in the same SI unit...

With DI...You would have never seen that "newfound" structure on the display...you would have passed right by it...
