    Also the yellow wire is an exciter wire for starting, such as an LSS if so equipped.

    Isn't NMEA 2000 for network communications and NMEA 0183 for GPS stuff?

    Per wikipedia, I am mostly correct. NMEA 2000 will also cover the 0183 standard but not the other way around. NMEA 0183 is mainly for GPS type functions.

    OK I give, don't remember my Elite 7 having anything but the 2000.
