On my 898, you get a pop up with all the views categorized, DI, SI and a bunch of others. So you hold View for a second or two, get the pop up and with two or three arrow clicks, you are on the screen of choice. No need to ride the carousel.

One of these days...I may actually upgrade...(if there is ever a hardware upgrade that I feel is worth the money for my style of fishing and experimenting)...

Yep, I'm the same way. Unless this one breaks or they offer something so compelling that I have to get it....I will stick with what I have.

Heck, my HDTV is a DLP. Not even sure if they still make those. I drove a '95 F150 until it started flaking out earlier this year. Just my nature.

Just traded my 89 3/4 ton (Chevy)that I bought new.....Still hardly any rust...My brother was the service manager where I had it rustproofed.....I like to buy something good and keep it forever.
Might upgrade my 1197 though if I can convince myself to buy a 360....Need to have more time to fish first.

It may actually be in 1 of the newer versions...

I'm using 5.840 and 6.310 right now...

you need to update.if you can't get your 1197 to work with new update sell and get one of those discounted 1198.don't let those fellers talk you into one of those hds units cause all you'll be doing is looking down then and missing out on all the fun stuff

I'm having fun running the LSS 2 xducer on my HB 1197...

And my 1197 works great on 6.310...

I get lots of funny looks when people see my setup...
