There's a new GPS coming out for the larger boats such as those 26-36 plus boats some of the boating community & salmon fishermen use here on Lake Michigan. Called Skyhook GPS and wired into the boat controls it permits these big boats to hold a position on the water without use of an anchor. Wonder what that will cost??

The main engines, the engines have to be in neutral before Skyhook can be turned on. Thru use of GPS and compass reading it is supposed to keep boat within 10 ( feet with good satellite reception) to 20 foot setting area. Good for waters too deep to anchor, waiting in line for bridges to open, etc. Not to be used when swimming as props will/could be turning on/off automatically, Very slow speed.
