Position format is wrong. Degrees/Min/Sec must match Degrees/Min/Sec.(etc). Match your formats if you hand enter data.

Post an example of the format sequence in your handheld ...
(Just use x's in place of the digits so you won't be giving away your spot)...

There is also "map datum" to consider besides position format. Either one should be easily solved by adjustment of the settings. You have to coordinate the Magellan map datum and position format with the 898. Start by adjusting the position format. On you 898, press menu twice and go to set up. Scroll down to position format, and change it to the same format as your Magellan and see if that corrects the problem. If not, go to the Nav menu and scroll down to map datum. Then adjust it to the same datum as your Magellan. Actually you can change the Magellan settings to match the H/B versus changing the H/B to match the Magellan. Doesn't matter which way you do it, as long as the both are using the same settings.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

+1 Good advice Shellback. Personally I like using the all degree format (dd.ddddd on the Humminbird) but any will work.

du4checy, if you have a lot of waypoints, see if you can save them from your Megellan to a memory card or download them from your computer. If so there may be a quicker, more accurate way to do this.
