    Question Hb pc

I guess I just ain't smart enough to figure out how to use it. I have down loaded WP off my DF and can view them in Google Earth off HB PC. What I can't figure out is how to add WP using Google Earth. It never wants to load up. The LAT/LON data is not in the same format either. How do I convert it to make HB like it? I have found several places I want to fish on lakes I don't get to very often. I see where the LAT/LON data is shown on the GE maps that I can write down, but I have not been able to enter it on HB PC and get it to go to the right spot. It gets close, but not on the target. What am I missing or doing wrong or not doing right?

(Do these make it clear how frustrated I am?)

I think you will need to export the waypoint file from Google Earth as a .kml format file to your PC ...

See if there is an "Export" under the file tab and then look for "Export As" or a dropdown arrow that will let you export the file as .kml

Then run them thru GPSbabel to convert the format into the HB waypoint .hwr format file ...

Then HBPC should recognise the .hwr file..

    GPSbabel here...

If there are only a few waypoints that you are working with here than I would just enter them in by hand. You need to set both Google Earth (GE) and HumminbirdPC (HummPC) to display the coordinates in the same format. The most accurate format to use would be the all degree formats of each. In HummPC open the Edit drop down menus and select “Preferences” and look for “Position format” and set this to the “dd.ddddd” setting. In GE open the Tools drop down menus and select “Options” and look for “Show Lat/Long” and select “Decimal degrees”. Both programs will now be displaying in the all degree format. GE will be using six decimal places while HummPC only uses fove so just drop off the last number from the GE waypoints. GE also uses positive and negative numbers to indicate North/East (positive Lat/Long) and South/West (negative Lat/Long). You can just manually enter in the waypoint numbers now.

If this is for many waypoints than I recommend doing as Rickie stated except to export the data from GPS Babel as a *.GPX type file so that HummPC can open it. The *.HWR file format is what the units use. HummPC is used to convert to/from the HWR to GPX file formats.
