    Default Charging......

Just bought a Hummingbird 12v 7.2A battery which I'd like to charge with the battery charger I already have.

I usually use it to charge my car battery......... I can set it to 2A, 4A, or 6A charging rate.

    Any advice here? Thank you.

I would use the 2 amp setting. If that battery was completely depleted (which you never want to do) it would take 3.6 hours to recharge it at 2 amps.

Just found this......... scroll down to #3......... BatteryStuff Articles | Guide to Understanding Flooded, AGM, and Gel Batteries

Apparently, GEL Cel and AGM batteries may need special chargers. I'm wondering if the one I have would damage the battery..........

2A may be too much current for that small a battery. Batteries that small are usually charged with a "wall wart" style charger such as a Powersonic-12800A Mouser Electronics - Electronic Components Distributor==
