Make sure you have the power/tdx cord securely locked into the power socket ... and that all connections to the battery are tight. Push & hold the power button in for several seconds & then release. If it still doesn't come on, jiggle the wires (lightly) around all the connection points (back of the unit, battery terminals), then try again.
I hook mine up to a portable jumper battery, with a extra power/tdx cord, in my home ... and it doesn't always come on immediately after pushing the power button. I have to jiggle the battery clamps & power cord connection, sometimes several times, before I get it to come on. I don't have that problem when connecting it up, on the boat.
If it worked at the GM display, then it's simply a matter of not getting a good connection at home. Did you turn the unit on at the GM display, or did a sales rep ?? The unit will not come on with a quick push of the power button ... you have to hold it in for 3-5 seconds. Hopefully, that's all there is to your problem.
