I have 2 HBs on my boat a 385ci at the rear and a 141 up front I bought the 385 and loved it so my father purchased a 141 for me to mount up to the tm. The 141 lasted a few months then fogged up and dyed. I sent it back to hb customer service and received a refurb I believe.. Worked perfect for 8 or 9 months and then just died. Went black and won't cut on or even beep. I switched the 141 and the 385 no problems with connections, or transducer. Just the head unit is toasted. Can I purchase another refurb in a better model.. Is the 141 a bad model or have I just had bad luck? I keep my boat sheltered but I do fish occasionally in the rain. Any help or reply would be appreciated as I do not have money to go out and buy a whole new unit. ( have a 2 yr old and a tight budget) Thanks!

The same technology is used to seal the 141 as for our other units PP, so I’m guessing you just got two bad ones. How long has it been since your Dad bought the original 141?

You will have to check with our Customer Resource folks (or maybe Deborah will see this post) about buying a unit only (no transducer, mount and all).

We have a few control head only units that would work on the same set up for the 141.

I sure don’t Cane Pole. I used to handle field testing but not anymore.
Let me know if you will be coming by the plant though, I’d like to meet you.
