    Default Lowrance question

I just purchased a used rig and it has a Lowrance Eagle Z6000 on it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Half the time it won't respond to the codes I try to punch in that are in the owners manual.

I don't know anything about these things so my question is should I try to get this repaired or buy a new one?

Years ago I used a Humminbird Super 60 portable outfit that was effective and simple.

Simple is what I need since I'm a speed bump on the fish finder info super highway.

    Thanks.

You can forget trying to get it repaired. Unit way to old. You can get a much better unit fairly reasonable. Lowrance, Humminbird and Garmin all sell good basic units for less than 200. If your not used to using one and only concerned with seeing depth and some cover a serviceable unit can be had for around 100.00.
