    Default Trolling Motor Problem

My Riptide SP 55 is the Legacy series. When I've fully charged my batteries, I don't get full power. When I first turn it on, It will run at full power for 5 seconds or so and then slowly start to slow down to about half power or less. Could it be the Control Board or the motor going bad?

Pull your prop off and check for line wrapped around it.

Does the battery tester on the trolling motor work well. It says they are fully charged.

It won't tell you if there is a shorted cell(s). Have it load tested.
