Default GPS coordinates and Map Create 6

I am having one heck of a time entering coordinates into MapCreate 6. I could use some help.

What I know, which isn't much.
More than one style of GPS coordinates.
How do I change Map Create 6 style to align with my Maps, and iFinder GPS?
I can download my GPS coordinates to Map Create 6 no problem. However I am having one heck of a time entering NAD27 coordinates into Map Create 6. I keep getting a Log or Lat error, needs to be <60 degrees.

Map Create is looking for this format.

    N 00*00'00.0"
    W 000*00'00.0"

Note: * equals degrees. I ain't smart enough to find the degree symbol on this thing.

    The NAD27 coordinate I want to enter is;
    39*26.700'
    88*45.850'

What do I have to do to make this work?

    Thanks!

    Update.
I got to thinking while I walked the dogs.
I checked my GPS, and it has the format I want to use. So I changed the GPS to the appropriate format and downloaded the waypoints again. I uploaded them to Map Create 6 and they still came up the old format. This means Map Create 6 converts the format. So that means there must be a setting to change. Pulled out the manual again, and found how to change the setting. Changed it and wala, all my coordinates are in the correct format.

Hand entered all the GPS coordinates. Roughly 30 of them and saved per the instructions. Had to delete the old files off the MMC card to get the new file to save. Uploaded the new map to my GPS and wala, not one of the new coordinates was there.

Upon further investigation, I needed to save the file as a .urs file format. 1am and reveille is 5:15am. So tonight I get to repeat the process and save it correctly.
Even though I didn't get any replies, thanks for looking. I'll let you know if I'm successful of not tomorrow.

I wish Lowrance would come out with a new version of Map Create that will work properly with modern computers. I have to break out my old XP machine every time I want to use it.

Not sure which version you have. The Map Create 6 version I have works with my Windows 7 pc. Granted the graphics are horrible by todays standard. Plus I'm not so sure the maps are accurate, I have several waypoints that show up on land, and I know I marked them while in the boat, in the water. I didn't get around to uploading them last night. Maybe if I get time tonight after packing Ill work on it, otherwise Ill do it in camp this weekend.

Might help to check your coords using this : GPS Coordinate Converter, Maps and Info

It will give you an idea of whether or not your coords are being accurately portrayed in your MC6 program, by showing you a map that displays the location of each coordinate entered. It also shows FOUR different coordinate formats (it's a GPS coordinate converter program).

I had to use it to convert Decimal Degrees coordinate numbers over to GPS numbers, in order to manually put ~ 100 waypoints in my Elite 5DSI. The waypoints were off a webpage showing where the KDFWR had sunk brush/pallets/stakebeds on a local lake ... and the coords were in Decimal Degrees. I tried to cheat & just put in the numbers as many as would fit (not knowing there were more than one format of GPS coords) ... and my "brushpiles" showed up 40mi away from the lake When I used the converter, and went to the lake to check the accuracy ... they were dead on !!
