    Default SD cards for humminbird

So I have 2 Hum 858c di and a 998 that I decided to finally put SD cards in to start doing screen shots and such. I bought several 4gb SDHC cards and put them in. I enabled the snapshot feature and was told when I hit "Mark" it both saves a waypoint and takes a screen shot. Well on all three units i checked them to look at the screen shots after a recent fishing trip and absolutely nothing on the cards...

Cards work as I formatted and tried them on my computer loaded images and such. Only thing i did was update software on units to latest. Am I missing something or do they not like SDHC or wrong format. I saw somewhere to format them in your digital camera...??????

    Are the cards locked...??

I would think they were in the correct format from new...it should be FAT32...you can open HBPC, insert the card into your PC Card reader...A picture of a SD card should show up in the left pane of HBPC ....right click on the pic of the card and there will be an option to format....

Also...I have heard of a few instances where closing the SD card on the unit actually pops the card out of the slot in the unit....

With the "Snapshot" enabled and hitting "Mark"...there should be a popup on the unit screen that says whether the snapshot was successful or not...did you get a popup when you hit "Mark"...??

Also ..there should be, at the very least, a "Profile" file on the card after inserting and removing the SD card...is there anything at all on the cards...??

The HBPC recognizes the cards. I did reformat them and will check the other information you posted. Thanks for the help

ATP Pro Max SDHC 4gb. They worked great in my trail cams, cameras, and digital flask drive camcorder but did not work in of my Hum units.

ScanDisk........I will get a couple to just see. As I like easy fixes.

    Greg,

Which brands work best with Humminbird? I know it can be different for different electronics.

We have less problems with the SanDisk brand of memory cards but other brands have worked too.
