    Default not always your fishfinder!!!!!

Went today and played with new HDI unite. When I went Saturday my sonar lost power. Checked all conections at battery.... O.K., went to unit and where power was plugged into back, the connector was not screwed in tight.... Problem solved. Today fishing in a lake I have fished for over 60 years, the depth got to acting up. It went from 0 to 15 to 26 feet.... deepest water is 16 feet. My first thought was ..."what is wrong with this thing". Then I remembered being hung up in logs while fishing. Checked transducer on the back. It was vertical instead of horizional... corrected .....problem solved. Maybe this will help someone else out in the future. Like all computers " garbage in garbage out". Don't forget to check the little things. They could be the problem..... Good fishing... crappie1133

Very good advice. The first thing most people do is panic and over think the problem.
I've been there and done that way way too many times.
