I had my boat networked with a Ethernet cable so I could view the SS on the bow or console also. I don't understand why you want to use the 3000 on a HDS unit. How do you have your nema network wired up?

The 5 is stand alone. Nothing is networked (yet) other then the 5 and the LGC 3000. I'm having problems determing if the 3000 is functioning. I do know the antenna does work in the unit it's self. It's running now and working without the 3000 connected.
It was my understanding the 3000 was a better option the just the HDS. But according to justinp61 that's not the case.
    I'm learning.
Next, when I get the ethernet cable. I'm going to connect the 5 to the structure scan I now have the connected to the HDS 7 at the helm.
I sure hope I'm not being too redundent.
    Thanks for the help.

Recieved the cable today and had sense enough this time to hook it up prior to fishing it. Both graphs work great.
The only issue I still have is with the puck.

I have the same setup as you...just got it installed and the Ethernet cable is supposed to be here tomorrow. Am I correct in understanding that you simply connect the Ethernet cable directly between the two units? And that I'll then be able to use the structure scan (transducer is mounted on the transom) on the bow mounted HDS 5 (currently have the regular transducer on the trolling motor)? I haven't even had it on the water yet...a local marina did the installation and I WAS NOT happy with the service, so I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the whole danged thing is not installed correctly.

No. From the front graph, run the ethernet cable to the structure scan. That way you can togle between the front (or back) on there own settings.
    I hope that helps.
That's why there are three ports on the structure scan.
Each graph has it's own port.

Thanks, Mike. This does help. I'm assuming it doesn't matter which of the other ports you use on the LSS2...one is already connected to the HDS 7 unit on the console. Is this right?
