    Default Lakemaster--goods and bads

Hey guys, got the new midsouth version of the Lakemaster card. If your lake is on the card in HD, you owe it to yourself to get the card. It's pretty neat to adjust it to actual lake levels and highlight the depth you are targeting. Now I just need I-link and I'll be set!

One gripe I have though...a lake I fish a lot had contour lines on the stock 998 and 858. Once I put in the lakemaster chip, this lake loses its contours! I know what your thinking, I can't be on two lakes at once. But I was looking forward to using the depth highlight, shallow water highlight, and depth offset feature that is enabled with the lakemaster chip on that lake, but its a no go. You would think if HB has contours for the lake, lakemaster would too! Probably will on version 2, $125 later!

    Otherwise, its pretty neat.

I have one ...the great plains version. My main beef is not as many lakes as there should be on a $100 map chip. One of the top crappie lakes in the state i live in is not on it. The lakes that are ok and i really like to use the LakeMaster PC program in conjunction with it

Maybe not Stickman as the lake maps in the unit are from Navionics.
You won’t be able to use the special LakeMaster features on these lakes but you can still view them by using the Chart Select menu.

    Try this...

Go under the "Chart" tab and manually select the opposite card slot from the Lakemaster slot and see if it turns off the Lakemaster map and makes the unit use the internal Contour XD map...(without having to take the Lakemaster card out of the unit...)

You still would not be able to use the neat Lakemaster features on the Contour XD...but at least you should get any contours back that usually show on the internal Contour XD...

Post back if this works cause I'm kinda curious if it works this way also...
