Thread: New Electronics Updates

I want to share this tip for others that have purchased new electronics. I recently bought a new unit and was surprised to discover that the operating software was out of date. I guess my locator was made before the latest products software updates were available. So I am recommending to take a look at the application that is running in your unit to make sure you are running the latest available from the manufacture. I found the procedure pretty easy with the help I found on the manufactures web site. Not sure if it works the same for all makes and models but all I needed to get was a SD card to download the new update files from my home PC. Then I placed the card in the SD slot of my locator and turned it on. The unit started the download process and told me when it was completed with on screen instructions to finish,REALLY easy! I hope this helps someone remember to complete another of many tasks when installing and learning how to operate their new system. Good Luck,Good Fishing!!

On a HB unit, it is recommended to "Restore Factory Defaults" before and after installing new firmware...

(Even tho the update has built-in Restore Defaults, it is still a good safe practice to manually restore defaults)...
