Default humminbird greg or anyone else who can help

greg I just purchased a new 1198 to upgrade my 1197 i was wondering if the 1197 transduecer is the same as the 1198 if it is i will just leave the 1197 transduecer on the boat and keep new one for a spare.

also do all the 1198's have the led back light so it can be easier viewed in the sunlight

The only difference between the 2 will depend on how old your 1197 is. The difference is shielded transducer cable and I think right before 1198 came out is when the TD was changed to include shielding.

The additional shielding was in the housing of the transducer itself; the cable already had the added noise shielding. This was added to help protect it from trolling motor interference.

Yes, all of the 1198’s have the LED backlighting.
