    No. He was talking on the horizontal, not the vertical. Place the "blunt end" of the transducer forward, not up. You are living in a 2d world with 2d sonar.

    If down does become up, just turn the unit upside down.

    LOL @ rtark!

    CP, the blunt end of the Humminbird DI transducers is the front of the transducer. He would need to turn it so the pointed end is forwards on the trolling motor. This will not affect any sonar readings on this unit.
