Also...I have read suggestions before about increasing the "noise filter" under the "Sonar" tab to about 5...(I think it may have something to do with the unit is possibly picking up noise in the water column and thinking it is the bottom)...

yep--digits disappear. Connection is solid--I think your right about the noise filter--total forgot about that--thanks.
