    Default Maxxum 74 help

Just bought a used maxxum 74 24 volt. Plugged in and nothing, unplugged and plugged my old one in and full power. So, I know its not the wiring. Anyone have suggestions? I did call the guy I bought it from and he said he would give my money back or pay to fix it. I'd rather have it fixed just don't know what's wrong.

Check the "momentary/continuous" button on the left side of the foot pedal ...

If its in the middle...it will not run...

I tried it in momentary and continuous, nothing. You think the switch has gone bad?

If I recall the Maxxum comes without the male power plug new so the previous owner would have had to install the male plug on the power wires...

I would do some testing and make sure the +and- wires of the TM are wired into the correct +and- wires of the male plug the previous owner used...

And that those connections in the male plug correspond to the way you have your +and- wires connected to the boat's female socket plug...

I'll check that out. Crappie Wizard in Paris is probably the closet repair shop, right?

It's always amusing to try and guess the meaning behind some user names.....

Sorry for the misquote....but I bet you are a doctor of something...(At the least a dr. of kindness...)

Have you been able to check the wiring of the plugs for correct pin allocation...??

Bill should be along soon...he's a whizz at this stuff...

You might wait until he (or someone else) checks in before you call the previous owner...
