longliner, I see you ordered an Elite 7HDI . I have a HDS 7 Gen 2 that is not a year old. I bought it thinking I would someday add Structure Scan. Now I can add down scan with the Elite 7 and can place the transducer on the trolling motor.( not a big fan of side scan) I have transducers on each end of the boat e/w switch. I can utilize the hst-wsbl on the back andhave 83/200 split screen and the down scan transducer on the trolling motor. My HDS 7 Gen 2 works great, know anybody looking for a great deal. All I will have to do is mount the transducer on the trolling motor and change out the head unit, the power cord is the same. Hope you like your new unit. Good fishing
