It is still used CP. Bearing is used as the direction to a waypoint referenced from north. You will get bearing information whenever you use the GoTo function of the cursor in a Humminbird unit.

I understand bearing. If you sight your compass on a target, that is the bearing. I just never see it mentioned in the manuals.

I just checked several different operations manuals and bearing is in every one of them. I don’t know if it has always been in there (older versions may or may not have had it).

Yep. Bearing in the sense that is being used by GPS is in question. Can't remember.
