Linking units

Have an HDS 8 in back and a HDS 7 on the trolling motor. Had them linked together for sharing weigh points. When i turn the front unit on and move to a spot the back unit will not show the sonar. Assuming its reading what the trolling motor is saying. Also the water temperature will now not read on the HDS 8 at the console even when the trolling motor unit is not on. Is this what you get when linking units or am i doing something wrong.

You will need to go into your sonar menu and turn off "network sonar", you may also have to go into the "data source" and select this unit.
