Yes. Solder them and make sure the shield is at least partially intact. Seal everything up with liquid electrical tape.

I pinched my transducer cable in my trolling motor bracket and it cut a couple of wires in to. Can I splice these wires back together and it work properly? The unit is a 581 DI unit from humminbird.

So just twisting them back together and electrical tape wont work. Hill billy electrical work.

Try doing a search for cable repair. CanePole post a real good description with pictures about how to repair these cables. If you can't find it might PM him and get him to post a link to it or email to you. Like Cafan said solder and liquid tape. Cut off enough insulation where you can offset the repaired sections. I also like to use a piece of heat shrink over everything to waterproof as much as possible.

Well if it don't just send it to me and buy you a 998
You would Definatley have more conductivity if they were soldered. Afraid that it my come loose if it is strained very much.

I pulled my transducer cable so hard (anchor lock on Terrova turned around and around) it broke the shielding coax and some wires inside. Lost all my signal from the transducer. Sent it to a gentleman, canepole, on this forum, he repaired it and it works like brand new. He wouldn't accept any payment for fixing it. I even offered to buy his grandkids something for Christmas but they are all grown. So, a great big thank you to canepole. It is greatly appreciated.
