Thanks for the link shellback. You are right about the detail not being as good with the garmin maps. I should have also mentioned that I will be getting a HB 998 SI at the helm soon and I was hoping to use the contour elite to plug the garmin hand held unit into, save waypoints (in HB format) and then export to HB 998. I have several hundred waypoints to manage. It would be good to be able to do the opposite also...mark waypoint on HB, export to contour elite then upload to garmin. I realize this would probably be alot easier with 2 birds interlinked (without using the garmin) but I'm not sure I'm ready to give up my garmin in the front of the boat yet. Thanks.
