    Default The Boom-Boom Tackle Box

I couldn't find a descent place in my Triton to mount the radio without having to cut/drill holes somewhere...so I came up with what I call my BOOM BOOM TACKLE BOX.

I had a brand new tackle box sittin around that I wasn't using...I suddenly got an idea while I was looking at it one day.
I took the storage boxes out and cut a hole in the inside divider of the tackle box and just slid the radio into the box and secured it with soam styrofoam. Then I drilled some holes and mounted the speakers and wired them up.
Next, I went and bought a 4-wire trailer harness with plugs. I drilled a hole in the back of the box and ran the trailer wire into the box and wired it to the radio and then wired the other end up to the boat...now I've got a nice watertight connection when I plug the radio in.

I got my Sirius receiver turned back on (haven't used it in years) and it just mounts to the top of the tackle box with a suction cup mount and I power it through the cig. lighter on the boat. (don't have a pic with the Sirius mounted).

Now I've got a nice compact portable stereo set-up that I can leave sittin on the floor under the dash when in use and then unhook it and pack everything into the tackle box and bring it inside when I'm done.

I was pretty tickled with the set-up...hope u guys get a chuckle out of it as well.

Good job. I think it's more fun to come up with your own ideas then going out and buying something like it.
