Default Installing a 998 HB Need Some Advice

Plan on helping a friend install a 998 HB tomorrow. I have downloaded and read the entire manual so I have a fair understanding of the installation and some of the operations of the unit. I was wondering if there was any other items that we might need for the installation. I think that I will need the following...

    in-line fuselink and a 3 amp fuse

an SD card but I'm not sure what kind

I'm pretty sure that he didn't get the map chip so what do we need for Arkansas?

18 gauge red and black wire

If anybody has any suggestions please let me know.

You pretty much have it covered.

I would suggest getting a plate to mount the transducer on. It sure takes the worry out of having holes in the boat if the transducer needs to be moved. Cabela's: Cabela's Transducer Mounting Plates

I use the Navionics hotmap card http://www.cabelas.com/product/Navio...h-All+Products

HB recommends the Sandisk brand of SD cards...

    Any Gb size will work...

Any of the write speed versions will work...(just realize that the faster the write speed of the card - the faster the unit can write recording and snapshot data to the card)...

If possible I would go with bigger wire and run straight to the Battery. I went from front to back and used a 12ga. extension cord. Its probably 20 ft. of wire and I only lose 0.2 volts. Do it one time, especially if you have to take up floor boards.

Ram Mount would be an added luxury.
