Thread: Sharing waypoints question

Roy,
I bought the Navionics PC app and I have been able to transfer waypoints from my PC to my HB and vice versa using a clean SD chip. All of a sudden I can't get the data to transfer. I would have thought that when you saved the WPs and sent to your friend it would have updated his unit when he started it up. That is how mine worked until it just quit working for me.
I posted this as a question on this forum but out of over a 100 views, no one had a suggestion.
Hope someone can clue us in.

Have him start the unit then put the card in. At that point is should ask him if he wants to import the waypoints.

CarolinaJim is correct; depending on the software level in the 798ci HD Si unit he may have to have the unit up and running before installing the memory card with the waypoints on it.

If that does not work Roy, let me know what software version each of you are running in your units. Also make sure that his 798 unit is recognizing the SD card you sent him by installing it and making a Screen Snapshot. That will let us know whether the 798 unit is recognizing and reading/writing to the SD card.


SeaRay, I don't have the Navionics PC app, so I really cannot help you. Is your using recognizing the memory card at all? Maybe try fully formatting the memory card will help.

I had to load mine in the HB PC program & push them in my other unit by connecting it to my computer. It would not do it with the SD card like it used to.
